The Full Story

• Alissa became a teacher in 2017. She taught grades K-12, created a music program for the academy from scratch, taught piano and voice lessons, and pursued a Master of Education degree.

• In 2018 Alissa created the first Chic Athletic Skirt with Attached Leggings.

• Alissa launched Modest Skorts (formerly Chic) launched in January 2019, originally just selling on Amazon.

• In 2020 Alissa adopted Bane, Nena, and Nola, and Muddy Mastiffs burst into life.​

• Later that year Jason moved cross country to Alissa's town and proposed.

• The Blacks eloped on January 6, 2021, coincidentally on the same day as the insurrection.

• This came just after Alissa's September 2020 diagnosis of Conversion Disorder. A more up to date name for this debilitating condition is Functional Neurological Disorder.

• FND functional neurological disorder brought this promising life to a screeching halt.

• After an epic life melt down followed by lots of healing and rebuilding, Alissa is creating again.
